Celebrate a new decade all year long in The Woodlands! The year 2020 is packed with things to do. From family festivals to nights of concerts and more, we’ve narrowed down 20 events not to miss in 2020.

JANUARY

Through March 26 | Argentine Art in Texas

Glade Cultural Center

View a selection of works with feature Argentine artists, for the very first time in Texas! Representing a mix of Indian and gaucho origins, a variety of visual art forms are present, including painting and sculpting. The exhibit is free and open to the public, Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call ahead at 832-557-8781 (especially in the afternoon hours) to ensure that the exhibit is not closed for a private event or special concert.

FEBRUARY

February 13 - 17 | Inspire Film Festival

Various Locations

This five-day cinematic event is dedicated to entertaining and inspiring everyone in attendance! The theme for 2020 is “Visionaries.” All films in the festival are chosen with this theme in mind. The festival includes panel discussions with filmmakers and actors along with food trucks and other events.

March 1 - April 5 | Concert in the Park 

Northshore Park 

As spring approaches and the weather gets warmer, head out to Northshore Park for an outdoor concert and other activities. Concert in the Park kicks off in March and includes all Sunday nights in March and a few in April.

March 7 | The Woodlands Marathon

Start at Town Green Park

This race is one of the most popular sporting events in The Woodlands for 2020! The marathon, half marathon and 5K all wind through The Woodlandsmaking for a scenic run. If you don’t plan on participating, find a cheer zone and head out to watch the runners! More than 9.000 athletes are expected to be hitting the streets!

APRIL

April 4-5 | The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival

Town Green Park & Waterway 

The annual Waterway Arts Festival sponsored by The Woodlands Arts Council, is one of the top five art festivals in the world. You’ll find artwork from more than 200 juried artists. Enjoy arts, entertainment, food and more all along the Waterway area of The Woodlands.

 

April 25 | Memorial Hermann IRONMAN Texas Championship 

Various Locations

Volunteer as a family to help with the huge IRONMAN championship in The Woodlands! You can also find a spot to watch the athletes compete in the running, swimming or biking portion of the race.

MAY

May 2 | Spring Fine Arts Show 

Market Street

Enjoy all things art at Market Street in The Woodlands! Artists are invited to showcase their paintings, photography, jewelry, metal works, sculptures, digital art, mixed media and other works of art at the Spring Fine Arts Show.

Starts May 16 | Waterway Nights

Waterway Square

Starting in the springtime, enjoy live music by local and regional performers in the beautiful Waterway Square area.

May 23 | Memorial Day in The Woodlands

Town Green Park

Celebrate the official start of summer at the annual Memorial Day Event in The Woodlands! The festival features live music, children’s activities, entertainers and a fireworks display.

JUNE

June 1-7 | Wine and Food Week 

Various Locations

Enjoy an entire week of activities involving food and wine! From a Chef Showcase to wine walks, The Woodlands is transformed into the ultimate Foodie paradise!

JULY

July 4th | Red, Hot & Blue Festival

Various locations

Celebrate the Fourth of July at various places around The Woodlands! From Town Green Park to Hughes Landing and more, activities are set up all over town for the entire family to enjoy. The day begins with a parade and ends with a festival with live music, food and an 18-minute fireworks show!

AUGUST

Starts in August | Rock the Row

Hughes Landing

Experience live music at Hughes Landing with this popular Concert Series along the lake. During the summer and fall, a variety of bands take the stage at the outdoor bandshell along Restaurant Row. Bring a chair and relax, (or have dinner at one of the waterfront restaurants) and enjoy the tunes.

SEPTEMBER

September 6 | Labor Day in The Woodlands

Waterway Square

Relax and enjoy Labor Day at Waterway Square. Expect to see live music, children’s activities, strolling entertainers and fireworks!

 

September 11 | First Responders Day

Town Green Park 

This is a day to honor first responders in The Woodlands. The ceremony at Town Green Park will feature a presentation of colors, Honor Guard, speakers and more. On this day, there is also a Patriot Day of Remembrance at the Central Fire Station in The Woodlands.

OCTOBER

October 10 | Memorial Hermann 10 for Texas

If you are aiming for a goal to hit in 2020, consider signing up for this race! Besides the 10 mile option, there is also a 5K and 1 mile run for kids. After the race, enjoy a Texas-sized post-race party with fun for the whole family.

NOVEMBER

November 11 | Veterans Day Tribute

Town Green Park

This annual tradition to honor our Veterans is always an afternoon event for the family. Along with musical performances and speakers there is a care package drop-off area so you can send items to those actively serving in the military.

November 21 | Lighting of the Doves

Town Green Park

Kickoff the holiday season with this tradition in The Woodlands! There are tons of activities for the kids including games, entertainment and food. The huge night ends with Santa boating in from The Waterway! It’s a night the kids will never forget!!

DECEMBER

The Ice Rink (open from 11/21 - 1/18)

The Pavilion Event Center

Lace-up your ice skates and hit the ice at The Pavilion! Spend hours on the ice and stop for a break with the famous hot cocoa with marshmallows.

The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion

From concerts to family festivals, some of the biggest events in The Woodlands happen at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. For 2020, names like Maroon 5, Jimmy Buffet and Chicago are on the schedule. The Pavilion also hosts the annual Children’s Festival in the fall.

Waterway Adventures

Riva Row Boathouse

Get on the water or take a class at Riva Row Boathouse. You can rent kayaks and explore The Waterway and Lake Woodlands. They often host classes, like paddleboard yoga or beginner kayaking. The swan boats seat four people and are a nice family activity!

Go Sky High at Texas TreeVentures 

The campus of The Recreation Center at Rob Fleming Park

Explore the outdoor aerial adventure course set amongst the trees in The Woodlands. Traverse a series of poles, cables and other elements. Reservations must be made in advance, online.
