How It Began: Vonlane in The Woodlands

Two cracked windshields in three years—that is ultimately why Vonlane pulled into The Woodlands. As Executive Director for Visit The Woodlands, Elizabeth Eddins travels extensively to entice business leaders to host their meetings and conventions in The Woodlands.

Frustrated with the wear and tear on her vehicle, Eddins booked a Vonlane luxury motorcoach for a trip between San Antonio and Houston. After experiencing its reclining leather seats, complimentary Wi-Fi, and premier snack and beverage services, she knew The Woodlands travelers needed Vonlane.

Eddins immediately put the wheels in motion, working alongside Vonlane Founder and CEO Alex Danza to establish a route between The Woodlands and Dallas. Her efforts paid off in June 2025 and again in May 2026 with a new route to Austin.

“Whether you’re coming to The Woodlands for business, a family reunion, or a weekend girls’ trip,” said Eddins, “try Vonlane once and you’ll never want to travel any other way.”

This safe, reliable transportation service has opened up a whole new world to The Woodlands. Vonlane cuts a comfortable and convenient path to the state capital, Austin City Limits Music Festival, Formula One races, University of Texas football games, and the State Fair of Texas.

Both routes intersect at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center, placing visitors in the heart of town. Within walking distance, guests can find The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion as well as upscale lifestyle centers like Market Street and Waterway Square. The area also draws international crowds for events like the Memorial Hermann IRONMAN Texas and the world’s biggest soccer matches coming to the region this summer.

Of course, leisure travelers are not the only ones who love The Woodlands. As a hub for industry leaders such as Baker Hughes, ExxonMobil, and Huntsman Corporation, The Woodlands is a premier destination for hosting meetings and conventions.

Whether guests are here for business or pleasure, their visits directly benefit the local economy. The hotel and sales taxes collected during their stay not only fuel the development of the community but also secure one of the lowest property tax rates in the nation. Now The Woodlands can provide these travelers with a pleasant means of transportation.

Long gone are the days of driving fatigue and spending more time in security lines than on a flight. Vonlane offers a 15-minute check-in and a three-hour trip that passengers can spend networking or watching Netflix. Even traffic is minimal as drivers receive live accident reports and detour options. From booking to drop-off, Vonlane is designed to be quick, safe, and easy to navigate.

“We receive so much positive feedback,” Danza said. “Passengers tell us all the time, ‘My grandparents live in Austin, and I see them so much more now that they can visit me as often as I visit them. You have changed my family.’”
