Summer is in full force and so is the patriotic spirit in The Woodlands this July! Whether you are here to celebrate Independence Day or to relax and dine or soak up some art, there is plenty to do this month.

Celebrating Veterans Glade Gallery  | July 2, 2018 - Times Vary

All month long, the nationally acclaimed exhibit The Conflict Zone will be available for viewing at Glade Gallery. This powerful multimedia exhibit depicts the act of war through a combat photographers lens. There will also be a display of The 1st 30 Dog Tags, (from the Afghanistan and Iraqi Wars.) On July 2, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. a light reception will be held with a tour of the exhibit from the curator and live music will be performed by Purple Heart recipient, Lance Pettis. From 5 to 8 p.m. the venue changes gears and will host the Freedom to Laugh Comedy Show, with hors d’oeuvres and three comedy acts, including Andy Huggins who performed on America’s Got Talent. Tickets for the comedy show are $35 and are available for purchase online.

Fourth of July Times and Locations Vary

This month is kicking off with a bang, literally… We will be seeing fireworks, a lot of them! Kick off America’s birthday with the sounds of the Houston Symphony at the annual Star-Spangled Salute at The Pavilion on July 3, 2018. Guests of this free event are welcome to picnic on the hill and encouraged to wear their stars and stripes, and stay for the grand finale, complete with booming cannons from the hill. The show starts at 8 p.m. with gates opening at 6:30 p.m., get there early for this patriotic event!

Rise and shine, you’ll want to wake up early on July 4, 2018! The Fourth of July activities begin with the parade at Market Street starting at 9 a.m., but you’ll want to get there early since the live entertainment and DJ starts as early as 8 a.m. Be sure to eat a big breakfast at Dosey Doe Breakfast & BBQ or Hubbell and Hudson Kitchen, as the parade is known to last until after 11 a.m. The Independence Day celebration is far from over. The 21st annual Red, Hot and Blue Festival takes place from 6 to 10 p.m. with live music, children’s activities and tons of family fun at various locations in The Woodlands. The event culminates with an 18-minute Texas-sized fireworks show, with four separate launch locations at Town Green Park, Hughes Landing, Waterway Square, Rob Fleming Park and Northshore Park.

Beauty and the Beast Nancy Bock Center | Dates and Times Vary

Step into the enchanted world of this modern classic, see Disney’s Beauty and the Beast as its produced by Class Act Productions. Showtimes are July 1, 7, and 8 at 2:30 p.m. and July 7 at 7:30 p.m., ticket prices range from $15 to $32 and are available for purchase online.

Rock the Row Hughes Landing | Thursdays, July 12-26, 2018 | 7 to 9 p.m.

Take in the views of Lake Woodlands and our local and regional sounds at Rock the Row this summer! Located at the Hughes Landing bandstand, and right behind Restaurant Row, this weekly concert series will begin on Thursday, July 12 and continues through mid-August. Hungry before the show? The patios at these great restaurants (Escalante’s, California Pizza Kitchen, Local Pour, The Blue Fish and Del Frisco’s Grille) all face the stage and most run happy hour specials right before the concert starts! If dinner and drinks runs late, you won’t miss a beat.

Listen and Dine with Chandler Various Locations | Dates and Times Vary

Local musician Chandler Lawn is here for the summer and she is doing what she does best... Singing! There is no cover charge to listen to this creative ukulele master. Chandler will be performing at local restaurants throughout the month of July, including The Republic Grille. Trust us, one day her music will be heard on radio waves everywhere and you can say, “I saw her in The Woodlands!”
