This month starts out with an Art Crawl and Craft Beer Festival and the 23rd Annual Children’s Festival, then it’s time to turn on the holiday fun until we ring in the new year. From concerts to Santa floating down The Woodlands Waterway, you’re sure to get a feel of the North Pole right here in The Woodlands.
Don’t forget, on November 17, The Woodlands Ice Rink will open for the season, lace up your skates and bring the family on the ice to feel the holiday cheer!
The Woodlands® Art Crawl & Craft Beer Festival November 3, 2018 | 2 to 5 p.m. Hughes Landing
Enjoy your Saturday at The Woodlands Art Crawl and Craft Beer Tasting at the walkable setting of Hughes Landing, the perfect place for an afternoon family outing. Guests will enjoy food and drink samplings, art and entertainment. The sidewalks of Hughes Landing will be lined with artists booths, a 3D sidewalk artist and sket artists doing live demonstrations. Live entertainment and music can be found at the Band Shell. The entertainment and art are free, admission for the craft beer tasting portion is $15 per person and includes food tastings and up to five beer samples. 23rd Annual Children’s Festival November 10, 2018 | 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. November 11, 2018 | Noon to 5 p.m. The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion | 2005 Lake Robbins Drive
This memorable tradition draws families from all over the area to The Woodlands. The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion will be transformed into a giant playground for the 23rd Annual Children’s Festival presented by ExxonMobil. Attendees can see Sesame Street Live on the Main Stage and interact with the characters from PJ Masks at a meet and greet in the South Plaza. From rock climbing to a petting zoo and kite flying to crafts, there is something for every child to enjoy! Admission is $10 per person and includes access to all activities and performances, child under two years of age are free of charge. Purchase your tickets here.
Lighting of the Doves November 17, 2018 | 3 to 9 p.m. Town Green Park | 2099 Lake Robbins Drive
Lighting of the Doves has been a cherished tradition in The Woodlands for more than 35 years, and the festive event kicks off the holiday season. Attendees enjoy snow play areas, live music, children’s activities, fireworks, and of course Santa will make his appearance as he comes down The Woodlands Waterway on a sleigh. Although there are a variety of activities and entertainment throughout the evening, all come together for the ceremonial illumination of the giant, white doves on the Lake Robbins Bridge and throughout Town Green Park.
Holly Jolly Jingle November 29, 2018 | 7 p.m. (Gates open at 6 p.m.) The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion | 2005 Lake Robbins Drive
It’s the most wonderful time of the year for Holly Jolly Jingle as The Pavilion stage features performances of familiar holiday medleys by local high school students as well as the Sam Houston State University Symphony Orchestra and Symphonic Choir. Concertgoers will be walking in a winter wonderland of activities. Guests are invited to create holiday arts and crafts, visit with Santa Claus and enjoy pre-concert performances in the plazas. All aboard the Candy Cane Express in the Gold Lot beginning at 5:30 p.m. There’s no chance of a silent night with this much music and fun.
The Enchanted Forest at Glade Arts Foundation November 26, 2019 to January 6, 2019 | 5 to 10 p.m. Glade Arts Foundation | 2000 Woodlands Parkway
The Enchanted Forest is a multi-sensory light, dance and theatre installation that invites audiences to experience a magical winter forest in and around the Glade Arts Foundation. Inspired by the book The Fox and The Star by Coralie Bickford-Smith, it tells a story of timeless friendship and the magic of nature. Audiences will move through the indoor-outdoor installation as they encounter an enchanting, interactive world of lights, acrobatics and dance. The experience is family-friendly and welcomes audiences of all ages. It is wheelchair accessible and there will be some sensory-friendly performances where we turn the sound down, turn the lights up and have extra helpers on hand.
