Mexicráneos is an urban art project born with the purpose of extolling Mexican culture, taking the “Día de Muertos” celebration in mind as one of Mexico’s most important festivities. The two vibrantly colored skulls will be located at Market Street's Central Park near Tommy Bahama Restaurant & Bar and Jasper's Gourmet Backyard Cuisine.

Each skull is painted by a different Mexican artist to portray an aspect of Mexican culture or heritage. The skulls pay homage to Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, a two-day Mexican holiday where families remember and pray for those who have died.

Visitors are encouraged to share their experiences using the hashtag #SoWoodlands and by tagging Visit The Woodlands and Mexicráneos.
