Two Houston artists, two solo exhibitions. Olga Porter, originally from Russia, and Jeanne Jones, MFAH Glassell Block XX. Curated by Annette Palmer.

Live music provided by Brazilian vocalist, Gisele Duque!

“Homebound” by Olga Porter, a Russian artist living in Houston. The exhibition is a journey in itself, a series of paintings reflecting on life evolving around the artist. Nothing stands still. The movement of light, colors and sounds produces unique energy always specific to a particular place. Each painting is an experience, a state of mind, a story open to the viewer’s interpretation.

"My Spirit Unfolds", by Jeanne Jones. My work explores the sensory and meditative experiences of plant environments through painting and drawing using a mixture of abstraction and realism. The work is not programmatic; instead, my process relies upon intuition, dream-like memory, and the unconscious. The paintings presented here reflect a passion about translating my thoughts into works of art that allow the viewer to share these experiences with me.

The show runs thru the end of September.
