Waterway Trolley

The Woodlands Waterway Trolley provides easy transportation along a 4.1-mile route connecting The Woodlands Mall, Market Street, The Woodlands Waterway and Hughes Landing. This free transportation service gives visitors of The Woodlands easy access to retail, entertainment, restaurants, and hotels. Multiple trolleys will be in operation at a given time, to ensure wait times are at a minimum and stay around 10 minutes. 


Trolleys operate in the Town Center area of The Woodlands seven days a week.

  • Monday - Thursday: 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. 
  • Friday - Saturday: 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. 
  • Sunday: 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. 
  • Note: There will be no service on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, or New Year's Day. 

The app will provide you with trolley information including estimated arrival times, location, stop information, nearby attractions, service alerts, and more. The Ride Systems App can be downloaded for free in the Apple (IOS) or Google Play (Android) store. After installation, select “Woodlands Township” from the menu to begin use.

Trolley routes may vary due to construction, traffic or special events. Follow @TownshipTransit on Twitter for the latest information on route changes and more. Also, please note: there is no Trolley service on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day or New Year’s Day. 


Due to COVID-19 safety measures, trolleys will be wiped with disinfection throughout the day and will undergo a thorough disinfection process at the end of each service day. All drivers will be required to wear face coverings. Passengers are also highly encouraged to wear face coverings. The current maximum capacity is 17 passengers per trolley, half the normal capacity. For more details, click here.
