It's not every day that you get the chance to witness an IRONMAN competition. The Woodlands is set to host the Memorial Hermann IRONMAN Texas, where athletes will swim 2.4 miles, bike 112 miles, and then run 26.2 miles all in one day. The number one reason why athletes say they love this event in The Woodlands is due to the crowd support they receive along the way. Cheering fans really do give an athlete the encouragement they need to succeed!
The swim begins at North Shore Park and ends at Town Green Park.
The bike portion begins and ends at Town Green Park. For this reason, we suggest staying nearby to watch the transition area.
Runners will go down Lake Woodlands Drive, Woodlands Parkway, towards The Woodlands Mall, and then back around.

At the end of each race, participants are allowed to vote in the Athletes’ Choice Awards. (Not to brag or anything, but The Woodlands is always a favorite among IRONMAN competitors.) In 2024, the Memorial Hermann IRONMAN Texas ranked 1st in Best Run Course in North America and 4th in Best Run Course Globally.
These rankings are established by athletes from all over the world, which speaks volumes for The Woodlands, its hospitality, and what an amazing destination it is.
