From fun in the sun with the family to a couples getaway, a little rest and relaxation is just what we all need this summer. Put your time off to good use and plan a vacation to remember at The Woodlands Resort. Here are a few suggestions to get you started with daily activities during your stay.
1. MAKE A SPLASH
Take more than just a dip in a pool. At The Woodlands Resort you can make a splash in the entire Forest Oasis Pool Complex. Whether you’re a kid our just young at heart, you’ll be full of excitement after a trip down the 30-foot tower by way of a double-helix water slide! Take the kids for a “diving” lesson, as they view an underwater marine mural. Keep it cool and relaxed while tubing the 1,005-foot lazy river. Enjoy spending the day in the water and poolside or you can take it up a notch with a luxury cabana rental, complete with a television, small refrigerator, food and beverage service, and much more.
2. HIT THE COURT
Get the swing of things and take up a new hobby or bring back old memories on the tennis court. Have you always wanted to do as the professionals do and play on a clay court? Now is your chance! The Resort has a total of 21 tennis courts, 10 of them being clay and 7 being hard courts. The fun doesn’t end there, head inside, and test your backspin on one of four indoor courts. Outdoor courts are available for $12 per hour with indoor being $18 per hour. Balls, racquets and ball machines are also available for rent. Call the Tennis Pro Shop at 281-863-1590 to reserve court time or to schedule a lesson with one of The Resort’s certified tennis professionals.
3. PEDAL THE PATHWAYS
Explore the natural setting of the East Texas Piney Woods by pedaling over 220 miles of pathways. Use a pathway map to guide you to and from The Resort and throughout The Woodlands. Along your route, you can spot a variety of native wildlife; some of the most fun to watch are deer and the many different species of egrets and herons as they fish from nearby water. Bike rentals can be made at the Bell Stand for $15 for four hours or $25 for the day. Rentals include helmets and a bike lock. Children’s bikes are also available; however, they do not have bikes with training wheels.
4. A NIGHT AT THE MOVIES
Enjoy a movie night at The Woodlands Resort! On weekdays, family-friendly movies will be shown in various meeting spaces indoors. On weekends, plan for a movie under the stars, where you can make your own snack that I guarantee you will want s'more of. That's right, cozy up fireside before the movie and make the ultimate vacation snack. Check to see what's showing and take a look at the other activities that only guests can enjoy.
5. TEE IT UP
Test your skills on championship courses, The Resort offers two courses with pristine greens for its guests play on. The signature course, Panther Trail is a sleek course with stunning water features and lush fairways. The 18-hole course offers gentle rolling fairways with tall Carolina Pines lining each hole.
The Oaks offers a test for golfers of all skill levels. It’s easy to understand how the course got its name when you look around at the towering, beautiful oak trees. The course features large green spaces, huge greenside bunkers, and generous fairways. Part of the course borders Lake Harrison and adds to the natural beauty and challenge of the course.
Guests of The Woodlands Resort can make tee times at either (or both courses) when making room reservations, otherwise, tee times require a one-week advance reservation.
Whether you are hitting the pool or the fairways, The Woodlands Resort offers plenty of fun and excitement for a family vacation, a couple just wanting to get away or a solo trip to relax. One thing is for sure, The Woodlands is ready to welcome back visitors so you can create lasting memories with whomever you choose to travel with.
