Children at play and pictures with Santa. Lit up trees and sparkling hard candy. Bright fireworks reflecting on The Woodlands Waterway. These are a few of our favorite things. And what makes holidays in The Woodlands so special.

Make new memories and celebrate long-lasting traditions with us on your next Texas vacation. Here are a few of the annual events in The Woodlands that are created around the holidays.

Memorial Day festivities take place at the lush Town Green Park. Bring a lawn chair and sit back for strolling entertainers, children’s activities, live music, the national anthem, and fireworks show. You can also participate in creating care packages for our troops.

The 4th of July in The Woodlands is always a big to-do. Festivities begin with the Star-Spangled Salute at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion on July 3 then continue with the Fourth of July Parade on the morning of the 4th and the Red, Hot & Blue Festival that evening with live music, entertainment and fireworks at several locations across The Township including Hughes Landing, Waterway Square, and Northshore Park.

Gather with friends old and new at Waterway Square for the Labor Day celebration in The Woodlands each year. There will be arts and crafts, face painting, and a pie-eating contest—so much fun! The day ends with a beautiful fireworks display.

Burn off the calories before you consume them at the annual YMCA Run Thru The Woods, a Thanksgiving morning tradition here.

Christmas in The Woodlands is always magical and spreads out over several weeks. The Lighting of the Doves at Town Green Park kicks things off with a countdown to the moment the entire Township is aglow with holiday cheer. The giant doves that illuminate The Woodlands Waterway symbolize peach during the holidays. Everything begins in the afternoon and runs through the evening, including snow play areas, inflatables, and a live reindeer photo area. The Lighting of the Doves is also the first chance of the season for a Santa sighting. The Annual Tree Lighting in Central Park at Market Street is another local favorite. Get your shopping done early at the Junior League Holiday Market, and let time slow down as you ice skate at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion Event Center from mid-November through mid-January.
