Rachael Varner

Rachael works within the Marketing Department which serves as the official voice for Visit The Woodlands in messaging to meeting planners, leisure travelers, media and hospitality industry partners. As the Content Coordinator, she creates written materials for Visit the Woodlands and collaborates to develop various marketing initiatives.

With a passion for writing and a desire to serve, Rachael found her niche in journalism. Little is more fulfilling to her than helping others share their stories in a way that connects with their audience. Her professional background includes writing human interest features for The Houstonian and highlighting community events with KSHU-TV Channel 7. As a native of The Woodlands, she is excited to have returned to her roots and eager to share what makes her hometown exceptional.

In 2020, Rachael graduated from Sam Houston State University with a B.A. in Mass Communication with a concentration in Multiplatform Journalism. In 2023, she earned an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from Liberty University.

Outside of work, she enjoys reading, painting and spending time with her family.
