If you’re looking for a place for the kids to run around while cooling off, check out these areas that are sure to be a splashing good time! Plenty of splash pads are within walking distance of top-tier restaurants, so you can dine-in or order to-go for a picnic while the kids play. Most water spouts are open seasonally from March 1-October 31.

MARKET STREET

One great area for kids to cool off is the splash pad at Market Street. Located at Central Park near Tommy Bahama Restaurant & Bar, this play area is surrounded by dozens of premier shopping and dining options. Let the little ones play uninterrupted while Mom and Dad take turns running errands, enjoying Sunday car shows, or kicking back on the lawn for a free concert by local artists. WATERWAY SQUARE

Treasures from Grandma's Purse is a functional public art piece located in Waterway Square. Created by nationally acclaimed mosaic artist Dixie Friend Gay, this wonderful water feature includes multiple water spouts and a scavenger hunt for all the treasures that have fallen out of Grandma's purse. Keep an eye out for a cell phone, lollipop, action figure, and more!

 

CREEKSIDE PARK VILLAGE GREEN

If you just finished a hike at The George Mitchell Nature Preserve or lunch in Creekside Village, check out the splash pad on the Village Green! Just beside it is a beautiful, shaded area with plenty of seating for parents and wide-open spaces for kids to run, play, and cool off. The all-weather turf field is a popular spot for a game of catch or cornhole, and you'll often see families plan a picnic with food ordered from nearby restaurants or dessert shops.
