From disc golf with the family or a serious round of PGA approved golf with the gang, The Woodlands area has plenty of options to fulfill all of your golf needs. Don’t worry, you don’t always have to be a member of a club to play!
GOLF
The Oaks, located at The Woodlands Resort, offers a test for golfers of all skill levels. It’s easy to understand how the course got its name when you look around at the towering, beautiful oak trees! The course features large green spaces, huge greenside bunkers and generous fairways. Part of the course borders Lake Harrison and adds to the natural beauty and challenge of The Oaks.
Augusta Pines is an 18-hole golf (semi-private) club located just outside The Woodlands in Spring. The course is designed by Tour 18, Inc and features a state-of-the-art practice facility (including six target greens and sand bunkers). The course negotiates mature pines, dogwoods and oaks. The fairways are Baby Bermuda grass, while the greens and tees feature TifEagle. A total of 30 acres of lakes come into play on eleven of the eighteen holes.
The 18-hole West Fork Golf & Country Club just north of The Woodlands in Conroe is a public golf course that opened in 2004. West Fork Golf & Country Club measures 6,908 yards from the longest tee. The course features four sets of tees for different skill levels. Rental carts are included in the green fee and there is a pro golfer on site!
Spring Valley Golf and Disc Golf off of Gosling Road in Spring have a mix of golf and disc golf games for play. Spring Valley is an executive 9 hole design and is an ideal golf venue for small groups, business outings or school team practice. It’s also a great place for families to play a casual round of golf. The disc golf course is one of the most technical and challenging courses in Southeast Texas.
DISC GOLF
One of the most popular disc golf locations is Bear Branch Sportsfield Park. The 18-hole course is wooded with varied terrain and elevation changes. There is a great nine-hole disc golf course at Terramont Park. The course includes lots of elevation changes which is uncommon in the Houston area. The community park also has playgrounds, picnic areas, tennis courts, skateboard and bike area plus a dog park.
GOLF LESSONS
If you're wanting a little help with your game, most golf courses and country clubs have an instructor on site for lessons and other clinics. You can also get lessons from Golf Galaxy and PGA Tour SuperStore.
