Welcome to The Woodlands

A place where natural beauty and modern luxuries effortlessly coexist.

This is The Life

WE HEAR THAT A LOT

For work, for play, or for a lifetime ― find yourself captivated in The Woodlands. Located just 25 minutes from George Bush International Airport (IAH) and 45 minutes from Downtown Houston, The Woodlands offers an unrivaled escape from the everyday grind. Lively, yet serene. Casual, yet sophisticated. It’s a place where visitors and residents alike enjoy a calm balance of modern luxuries set among thousands of acres of protected pine forests. And when work is done, there’s no better way to experience this destination than by getting outdoors.

The camera looks up at the Texas TreeVentures aerial obstacle course. It is constructed of elevated wood platforms, like a treehouse, with various ropes, ladders, tire swings, and blue barrels interconnecting them. The trees surrounding the course are lush and green.

Two men walk across a golf course toward the camera. A lush treeline hugs the course on both sides and wraps around the back, highlighting the light green grass and early morning sky.

MILES OF ACREAGE TO EXPLORE

Just steps from the bustling Town Center, you can find yourself on more than 220 miles of hike and bike trails that wind through the community. Stroll the path along The Woodlands Waterway or relax at one of 150 parks.

For the adventurous and competitive types, you’ll want to check out Texas TreeVentures. This thrilling aerial ropes course brings visitors into the treetops for a unique bird’s eye view of the area while challenging your athleticism and balance. For those working on their swing, The Woodlands is home to several championship golf courses.

And for the music lover, The Woodlands boasts one of the world’s top-ranked outdoor amphitheaters, The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, where you can find everything from today's most popular musicians to seasonal performances by the Houston Symphony.

Visit The Woodlands' 2025 Map of The Woodlands. The texture and coloring are like a watercolor painting, with a soft cream for business centers, blended greens for parks and nature centers, and blended blues for Lake Woodlands and The Waterway. Important businesses and/or attractions stand out with realistic black-and-white sketches of the primary buildings. Highlights include: Hughes Landing (with the Lakes Edge Boat House and Northshore Park), Market Street, The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, Town Green Park, Riva Row Boat House, Waterway Square, The Woodlands Mall, Pinecroft Center, George Mitchell Nature Preserve, and Texas TreeVentures. Other key attractions (with no set location) are also marked drawn attention to with sketches, including: a mounted patrolperson, shopping bags, tacos (restaurants), a stag (wildlife), a female jogger, a female kayaker, a man walking a dog, waterfowl, a golf cart, etc. Hotels are marked with light orange icons featuring a single bed. Parking is identified with a bright orange icon with the letter "P." On the left of the map, there is an orange outline of Texas and the "The Woodlands Texas" written across it in the Visit The Woodlands font. Below that is a compass with the VTW "W" logo inside it.

The table is set with steak, chicken, salad, and alcoholic drinks. A floor-to-ceiling wine display is on the wall behind them.
