Join The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion on Thursday, July 3 for Star-Spangled Salute presented by Exxon Mobil, a beloved tradition that brings The Woodlands community together under the stars for a night of music, unity and celebration.

A wide-angle view of The Pavilion during the 2024 Star-Spangled Salute. The tents are lit up red, white, and blue with projections of stars across the red. The Houston Symphony is barely visible on stage, but every seat is packed from the front row to the back of the lawn. The sky is dark navy.

STAR-SPANGLED SALUTE

Star-Spangled Salute continues its legacy as more than just a concert. It’s a movement both symphonic and patriotic. For decades this free, family-friendly event has served as a first introduction to the arts for countless children. Many of them now return as parents to share the same magic with a new generation.

Attendees can expect a rousing musical performance featuring a full orchestra performance, preceded by a dynamic women’s chorus, stirring tributes to our nation’s heroes and special appearances by your favorite patriotic characters. The evening will also include free giveaways for all ages and the joyful atmosphere of neighbors gathering on The Pavilion lawn for a shared celebration. Whether it’s your first time or your fifteenth, Star-Spangled Salute is a tradition that welcomes you with open arms.

A flyer advertising the Artist in Arms art supply drive, which will be/was hosted during the CWMP's Star-Spangled Salute. The flyer is decorated with red-white-and-blue imagery related to art supplies and Independence Day. The text reads, "ART SUPPLY DRIVE | OPERATION: GAMECHANGER | DONATE TO SCHOOL ARTS PROGRAMS IN NEED!" And below that, "WHAT TO BRING: drawing paper, construction paper, markers, crayons, pencils, colored pencils, washable paint, brushes, glue sticks." In the lower left and right corners, respectively, are the logos for Artists in Arms and the CWMP.

ARTISTS IN ARMS

The Pavilion is proud to partner with Artists in Arms, a local veteran-led arts nonprofit, for this special event. As part of their Operation: GameChanger initiative, the group will host a booth collecting new art supplies to support underfunded school art programs in the community. This effort not only helps ensure students have the tools to explore their creativity but also empowers local veterans through meaningful service and community connection.

“The Star-Spangled Salute is about more than festive moments and patriotic fanfare,” said Jeff Young, President and CEO. “It reflects our mission to create meaningful cultural experiences and ensure the arts are accessible to all, regardless of background or circumstance.”
