Lankford’s, the beloved Houston-born burger institution with more than eight decades of history, is excited to announce two major milestones coming January 2026: the opening of its third location in The Woodlands and the expansion of its Midtown flagship with an all-new coffee and wine bar.

NEW LOCATION IN THE WOODLANDS

Lankford’s will debut its newest outpost in The Woodlands, taking over the former Baja Cantina space at 24 Waterway Ave in January 2026. The expansion marks a new chapter for the family-owned brand, led by third-generation owner Jessica Prior and her husband, Paul Prior, who will oversee the new location alongside fourth-generation family member Nicolas van der Does.

Designed to be a destination for all ages, the Woodlands location will introduce several new features to the Lankford’s experience, including a 12-tap self-serve beer wall, a milkshake bar with kid-friendly favorites and boozy shake options for adults, and a Rescue Menu offering a selection of dog-friendly dishes, with a portion of proceeds benefiting the Montgomery County Animal Shelter. Guests will also be able to participate in a new Lankford’s Wine Club, offering exclusive selections, events, and perks for members.

These additions join the brand’s signature lineup of burgers and comfort food classics, all served in a warm and inviting atmosphere that honors Lankford’s long-standing Houston roots.

 

The Lankfords logo features the name of the restaurant in a red, sweeping cursive font. The "s" forms a swoop under the name, and inside the line is white block text that reads, "EST. 1937."

FLAGSHIP EXPANSION

Alongside its Woodlands debut, Lankford’s is also expanding its iconic Midtown location. The team has officially purchased the lot next door and is transforming the space into a new coffee and wine bar, which will offer pastries made in-house by pastry chef Jenny Finch, specialty coffee drinks, and a sommelier-curated wine list, along with light bites and the full Lankford’s menu available to order throughout the day.

The new addition will complement the flagship Lankford’s Burgers location—enhancing the guest experience while preserving the charm, character, and comfort-food legacy that has made Lankford’s a Houston staple since 1937.
