The Texas Travel Awards shine a spotlight on the most exciting, innovative, and inviting places around the state. According to the Texas Travel Awards, the 2024 winners represent uniquely Texas places and experiences worthy of any traveler's itinerary. Winners were scored by a panel of judges that included travel industry professionals, travel journalists, and a touring musician.

Last year, The Woodlands received a Texas Travel Award for Market Street as Best Shopping District (Statewide) and The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival as Best Art Festival (Big Market).

"It's a huge honor to be selected as a Texas Travel Award winner two years in a row," said Nick Wolda, President of Visit The Woodlands. "Our excellent partners that were recognized in these awards truly make The Woodlands a must-visit destination. We're grateful to help them gain recognition on a statewide level."

BEST PUBLIC ART IN TEXAS

There are over 30 Art Benches and Art Bike Racks in The Woodlands, adding a unique element to the public arts scene. The Art Bench (and now Art Bike Rack) project, which was created by The Woodlands Arts Council, is comprised of unique art pieces that can be used as a seat or a way to prop up your bike after a long ride. It’s functional art – beautiful pieces created by local, regional, and internationally acclaimed artists that viewers can admire and use. Underwriters for the art benches and art bike racks work closely with artists to tell a story through their pieces. All of the art benches are within walking distance from one another, making it easy for art enthusiasts to go on a stroll around Lake Woodlands or along The Woodlands Waterway and enjoy (and interact with) multiple pieces of eye-catching art.
