CAMP AT LAKE O'HARA
Camp at Lake O'hara features a tent, campfire, and more! In the background of this setting, museum guests will see a print of the famous 1916 landscape Camp at Lake O'Hara by John Singer Sargent. Children can play in the camp and create their own painting of what they believe today's campsite would look like.
DINNER FOR THRESHERS
Experience rural farm life at the turn of the century in the interactive space designed after Dinner for Threshers by Grant Wood. The space features a space where children can tend to a chicken and collect eggs, cook in the kitchen, and set the dinner table. The display also allows guests to mix and match the farmer's patterned shirts as they are at the dining table.
Learn about one of Louisiana's most famous female artists and folk-art icon, Clementine O'Hara through her piece called Big Chicken. Children can create their own imaginary animals, load the cart with cotton and climb on top of the larger-than-life giant rooster.
Museum guests can travel to Mexico via the art piece titled Corn Festival by Diego Rivera. Children can explore the recreation of Rivera's frescos and add their own touch to create their own miniature building mural.
THE MANY MONAS
As museum visitors step into this exhibit they will notice all pieces have something in common, they are all celebrating the Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci. The "Many Monas" collection features parodies of the famous painting and even gives children the opportunity to see themselves as the Mona Lisa.
OTHER FUN ACTIVITIES
Children can create their ideal art gallery as they decide which pieces of art to feature on their gallery walls. Other fun attractions and sensory-friendly activities in the museum include drawing a self-portrait and creating different images through a three-dimensional puzzle pattern.
ENGLISH AND SPANISH GRAPHICS
