Kick off the holiday season at the 19th Annual Market Street in Lights Tree Lighting Ceremony on Thursday, November 19 beginning at 5:30 p.m. in Central Park at Market Street.
This beloved holiday tradition features the official lighting of Market Street's spectacular 70-foot Christmas tree, illuminating the destination with more than 25,000 twinkling lights. Hosted by Nick Wolda, President of Visit The Woodlands, and Noemi Gonzalez, General Manager of Market Street, the ceremony launches a dazzling three-minute light show synchronized to favorite holiday songs, complete with festive snowfall and confetti.
Guests can enjoy live holiday music from The JoiLux Band from 6 to 8:30 p.m., along with special appearances from beloved holiday and storybook characters including Anna, Elsa, Olaf, The Grinch, Martha May Whovier, Cindy Lou Who, Buddy the Elf, and Jovie. Balloon artists, face painters, strolling entertainers, and festive surprises from Market Street merchants add to the holiday excitement throughout the evening.
Presented by Sewell, Texas Children's Hospital - The Woodlands, and Rockefeller Global Family Office, the event marks the start of a season-long celebration. Following opening night, Market Street's signature holiday light show will continue nightly through December 31, with performances every hour on the half-hour from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Guests are also encouraged to support the annual Thanksgiving Food Drive benefiting Interfaith of The Woodlands by donating nonperishable food items and personal care products to help local families. Donations of nonperishable food will be accepted from November 11 through November 19 and include canned holiday favorites and pantry staples, as well as personal care items. Donations can be dropped off in the lobby of Building 6 behind Sunglass Hut or at the REES office located in Market Street on the second floor of Building 6.
Celebrate the magic of the season with holiday lights, live entertainment, festive characters, and family-friendly fun at one of The Woodlands' most cherished holiday traditions. -
