The search for a place to call home has led many to discover The Woodlands. The close-knit community, the peaceful walking trails, and the vibrant shopping and dining scene have drawn in residents and visitors alike, but we were curious to hear from business owners: Why The Woodlands?

TSAE New Ideas Annual Conference

TEXAS SOCIETY OF ASSOCIATION EXECUTIVES (TSAE)

We were excited to host the TSAE Annual Conference in such a welcoming and dynamic location. The Woodlands offers a unique blend of nature and sophistication that aligned perfectly with our conference goals.

A Mexican woman (Chef Beatriz Martines, 30s-40s) smiles at the camera. She is wearing a black chef's uniform with a white logo of corn and white text that reads, "XALISKO COCINA MEXICANA."

The camera reveals a wide-angle shot of the Xalisko dining room and bar from the front left corner of the building. There are a number of solid wooden tables that seat and are plated for four. The bar is covered in white, brown, and turquoise tiles shaped like flowers. In the back right of the frame is the rest of the dining room. The back wall features images of colorful corn cobs. On the ceiling is a long art piece of many interconnecting crocheted hexagonal panels. The panels alternate in colors of turquoise, lime green, dark forest green, and orange.

Finding a location for my restaurant was huge. It took a year and a half to find one, and I searched all over Houston. Somebody once told me that “whenever you find the right place, you’re going to know because you’re going to feel it.” I stepped into The Woodlands, and I knew.
