The Woodlands is a popular place for races of all kinds. Several annual marathons and triathlons like The Woodlands Marathon, IRONMAN Texas, Woodforest Bank Triathlon, and the Memorial Hermann 10 for Texas take place here each year. Runners enjoy racing beneath the canopy of our giant trees and along our waterways. The beautiful vistas can be somewhat of a pleasant distraction for the competitors.  

If you’re planning a tennis tournament, there are 76 tennis courts in The Woodlands, so we have you covered. Nine of these courts are located together at Bear Branch Park. And there are eight championship golf courses in and around The Township that are all popular places for golf tournaments in Texas. The Woodlands Resort has not one but two pro-designed courses that wind through lush land along the water. The Woodlands Country Club has three courses—the Palmer Course, the Tournament Course, and the Player Course—and at The Club at Carlton Woods you have the opportunity to play on the Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course or the Tom Fazio Championship Course. The 18-hole Augusta Pines course is also nearby.

Soccer fields in The Woodlands are located at Alden Bridge Sports Park and Bear Branch Sports Fields. We also host kayaking races, disc golf tournaments, cross country races, lacrosse and football games throughout the year. 

Your team will love the walkability of The Township, the abundance of outdoor public art, the free trolley, group-friendly restaurants, and teambuilding activities like Texas TreeVentures outdoor aerial obstacle course, and kayak and stand-up paddleboard rentals at Riva Row Boat House and Lakes Edge Boat House.
